Hello, I'm Natalie- a designer based in Vancouver, Canada. In 2012, I graduated with a degree in Interaction Design & Technology and have held a "back-to-back" career since then.
I began my career working for incubution agencies, which fast-tracked my exposure working for Series A-D start-ups across a wide variety of products. In 2018, I moved to Seattle to expand my experience leading projects for late-stage start-ups and "tech giants", including Zillow, AWS, Microsoft, and Honda.
These critical years honing my craft, in the form of both pixels and storytelling, equipped me to succeed in future roles. As LVIS' founding designer where I built the design and UX research discipline from scratch, cementing a foundation that successfully secured FDA approval. At Aurora Solar I was promoted as their first Principal Designer, building Platform solutions that unlocked Enterprise offerings.
My philosophy: The dramatic proliferation of technology creates a rising obligation to understand its shifting impact on human behavior and mental models. I'm always looking to expand the horizons of how we ethically use techonology to better humanity.
Natalie is great at getting a complex idea into a simplified solution or solution set. As a designer she is able to work quickly in spaces of uncertainty. This has been an amazing skillset during our work with Networks, Roles, and Teams where we are often developing new features and needing to toss out designs quickly despite lacking answers to many core questions. Her speed is a major asset.
Staff PM at Aurora Solar
Natalie has done an amazing job of both getting our engineers unblocked AND building towards a cohesive holistic vision. She's abreast of what other pods are doing and able to integrate a really deep understanding of our customers journey on top of holding a lot of complexity for our pod and others. She is able to escalate really key 'design debt' aspects of a given problem, while finding graceful compromises to also reduce eng complexity.
Staff PM at Aurora Solar
I'm always so impressed with Natalie's deep thinking on large UX problems. She uses a structured approach to her work that I appreciate. I enjoy seeing her source material and inspiration. It's helpful to understand her vision when she needs to explain complicated concepts to the team. I've been equally impressed with her presentation skills from small cross functional collaboration, all the way to a company All Hands.
Lead Product Designer at Aurora Solar
Natalie is the most talented UX/UI designer I've worked with- creative, meticulous, and always thinking holistically about users, product needs, and engineering constraints. She brings positivity, clarity, thoughtfulness, and a true spirit of collaboration to every project.
Lead Engineer at Aurora Solar
I have never had the pleasure of working with someone who would so thoroughly disappear into the needs of her team, the users, the client, and the company. This has resonated at some deep, unique, primordial level in her work and in those that got to work with her.
Design Director at Teague
What I appreciate about Natalie is her work ethic, she is focused, focused, focused! I have seen Natalie running (literally) in the studio more than any other Teague employee! Running to the printer, running back to her desk.... all in the service of extracting an extra ounce of quality for that delivery to the client. Just a great example to have around.
